Position Summary: The Harley Street Cancer Centre has an international reputation as a centre of excellence in oncology patient care. We offer high level surgical and medical services, supported by state-of-the-art equipment and a genuine concern for patients as individuals.
The department’s recent upgrade has resulted in the installation of 2 new Varian iX and Trilogy Linacs with full IMRT, IGRT, Gating and SRS capabilities. We have successfully operated the UK’s first CyberKnife which has treated over 100 NHS and private patients. We also have a Gamma Knife Perfexion, which treats over 250 patients (80%+ NHS) ensuring we have a world class range of radiosurgical equipment. This makes the cancer centre one of the most modern and comprehensive cancer care providers in the UK. Additionally the department also provides an Iodine 125 seed prostate brachytherapy service to three hospitals as well as a Radionuclide Therapy service.
The implementation of IMRT, RapidArc and other state of the art technologies has resulted in the expansion of the department. Therefore we are seeking experienced enthusiastic radiotherapy physicists and one dosimetrist to join our existing team of nine physicists and four dosimetrists to work at the Harley Street Clinic and at our other satellite centres. Well experienced and qualified candidates can expect to be compensated with a highly attractive package.
General
Responsibility:

The post holder will work in a multi disciplinary team that consists of physicists, clinicians, radiotherapists, nursing staff and clerical staff. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and precision in all treatment planning procedures undertaken and assist in the development of protocols in close collaboration with the physicists and radiotherapy team. Experience will be gained in IMRT and RapidArc planning. Eventually opportunities will become available to perform Cyberknife planning and participate in the provision of Iodine 125 seed prostate brachytherapy. This position is partly based at Harley Street and partly at one of our satellite centres although planning is performed remotely from the Harley Street Clinic.
