Position Summary: As part of the patient at risk and resuscitation service:
To lead on paediatric resuscitation issues across HCA
General
Responsibility:

• To act as an informed resource on paediatric and neonatal resuscitation issues to all staff

• To be involved in the planning, organisation and implementation of basic and advanced resuscitation procedures and training to all appropriate staff.

• To work with the Resuscitation Services Manager to plan educational strategies that meet the local hospitals needs.

• To participate in Clinical Audit and promote good practice

• Participate in the corporate resuscitation meetings and attend local meetings as appropriate

• Develop and implement a PEWS management system in collaboration with local hospitals
Requirements Essential Criteria:
• Sick Children’s Nurse/ Registered General Nurse (part 1 or 2), or Operating Department qualification, with experience of working within a paediatric critical care/ acute care environment
• European Life Support Instructor/Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor
• Proven experience of staff management/supervision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Diploma/Degree level Education


Desirable Criteria:
 Advanced Life Support Instructor/European Life Support Provider
 Experience of managing own time and work load
 PC Skills: PowerPoint, Excel and Word
 Teaching Certificate or equivalent
 Experience of involvement in clinical audit.
