Position Summary: Centrally located, HCA Laboratories provides a comprehensive pathology service to the HCA hospitals and to many other clients both within London and further afield. Our commitment to quality, investment
in our staff and the latest instrumentation, and innovative work patterns has resulted in a very rapid growth. To accommodate this growth HCA is investing substantially towards the expansion of the Laboratory. The Laboratory is well equipped with Beckman Coulter LH750, ACL.

Coagulation and TOSOH HPLC analysers. The Transfusion Lab has been recently inspected by MHRA. It is equipped with Ortho AutoVue, Ultra automated blood grouping systemand the Olympus Blood tracking system. Electronic issue is in routine use.
General
Responsibility:

-Speedy and accurate processing of samples
-Interpretation, validation and timely reporting of results
-Monitor and enter results from referral laboratories
-Participate in the On Call service
-Deal with telephone enquiries
-Assist BMS3 with day to day running of the section
-Deputise for BSM3 as required
-Ensure equipment is in good working order
-Comply with internal and external quality schemes
-Liaise with and assist in specimen reception and elsewhere as requested

Participation in a multi- disciplinary night shift including weekends will be required.

Salary circa £36,000 dependant on experience
Requirements We are looking for an enthusiastic, HPC Registered Biomedical Scientist with relevant experience in Biochemistry.
